The Loup
Branding Design
The Loup is a public transit concept based in Louisville, KY, focused on improving accessibility, clarity, and rider experience within urban transportation systems.
Developed as part of a broader exploration into system-based design, this project addresses common challenges within public transit—such as navigation confusion, inconsistent communication, and lack of user engagement. The goal was to create a cohesive set of applications that enhance usability while fostering a more open, efficient, and rider-friendly environment to attract more traffic and tourism to the city of Louisville.
The concept centers on building trust and ease within the transit experience. By prioritizing clarity, flow, and adaptability, the brand positions itself as a reliable system that seamlessly connects people to their destinations while reducing friction in everyday commuting in Downtown Louisville.
The design system emphasizes legibility and structure through clear typography, intuitive iconography, and organized layouts. A balanced use of color and spacing creates visual consistency across applications, from signage to digital interfaces. Altogether, the system presents The Loup as a modern, approachable transit solution that aligns with the needs of a growing urban population.
